This is a short 5 days Bhutan tour itinerary and covers three enthralling districts of Paro, Thimphu and Punakha in western Bhutan. Day 01 :

Paro, Bhutan Arrival | Airport Pick-up & Hotel Check-in, Paro Airport Birds Eye View Point, Bhutan Traditional Attire Experience

Your guide and driver will receive you at Paro International airport and drive to Thimphu. A short stop on the way to view Tamchog monastery.

Afternoon – visit includes memorial chorten, tallest statue of Buddha, Changangkha lhakhang, Sangaygang view point and Dupthop nunnery.

In the evening, visit to Tashichho dzong (The royal secretariat).

Day 02 :

Thimphu – Punakha sightseeing – Thimphu (76 Km, 2 hour drive):

In The Morning, Drive To The Beautiful Punakha Valley.

On the way, visit beautiful Dochu La pass (Altitude 3140 m) and Chimi lhakhang (The temple of fertility). This temple was built to honor Drukpa Kuenley, popularly known as “the divine madman of Bhutan”. Afternoon, visit to Punakha dzong built in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. Punakha was also an ancient capital of Bhutan until the rule of the second king of Bhutan.

In the evening, drive back to Thimphu.

Day 03 :

Thimphu – Paro sightseeing (54 km, 1 hour drive):

In the morning, visit to national postal museum, painting school (School of 13 arts and crafts) and craft bazaar. Free to stroll in the town for shopping and photography.

Then drive to Paro.

After lunch, visit to Ta dzong (The national museum), Rinpung dzong and Bhutanese farmhouse.

In the evening, free to stroll in the town for shopping and photography.

Day 04 :

Paro sightseeing – Hike to the Tiger’s nest monastery.

In the morning, hike to the Tiger’s nest monastery (Paro Taktsang). It is a 2 hour walk uphill till the Tiger’s nest monastery. This monument is the highlight of 5 days Bhutan tour.

In the afternoon, visit to Drugyel dzong (The fortress of victory). Then visit Kichu lhakhang, one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan built it in 659 AD.
